Gloucestershire, with a makeshift middle order, finally succumb to a defeat that was not certain after James Bracey’s fabulous unbeaten 148. Northamptonshire won a thriller at Wantage Road, as they successfully chased down 191, to win late on Day Four.
It all started so well for Gloucestershire when under dark, grey skies Cameron Bancroft won the toss and inserted Northamptonshire. Inside the first hour Northamptonshire had lost their third wicket for a meagre 41 runs. Northamptonshire, through Saif Zaib and Nathan McSweeney, fought back well and scored at a prolific rate. New Zealand international, Kristian Clarke bagged six wickets on debut in the Northants 1st innings, in which the home side reached 465.
