The title of this piece is the same as Mike Brearley’s wonderful book but also in the Vitality Blast season, something which is a real asset to have in your side. I have watched numerous sides in this format and not many out there are on a par with Jack Taylor.

We all know about Taylor the cricketer. A middle order game changer who can destroy sides, along with the cladding of the flats at the Ashley Down Road End, with his powerful hitting. Then you have Taylor the bowler. Someone who was banned from bowling his off spin due to a suspect action in his younger days, he had the character to be able to morph into a leg spinner. If I am honest, I think he should bowl more.
