Gloucestershire v Glamorgan Vitality Blast

Matt Taylor scored the winning runs as Gloucestershire successfully chased down Glamorgan’s 157, to win by 2 wickets. Needing 15 to win off the final over, Kamran Dhariwal hit the first ball for six, took two off the second, a single off the third. Matt Taylor, the coolest head in Cardiff, hit the winning runs past Keeper Chris Cooke, and Gloucestershire ran out eventual winners. 

In a game that saw both sides wrestle for victory, it was Gloucestershire that initially got the upper hand, as Duan Jansen and Marchant de Lange removed the top three batters to leave Glamorgan 28-3 in the 5th over. Jack Taylor joined the wicket-taking party and removed Ben Kellaway and Sean Dickson in the ninth over. Debutant Henry Hurle led the Glamorgan fightback with a superb, punchy 46, just as Gloucestershire’s bowlers were threatening to overwhelm Glamorgan. Hurle’s 31-ball innings, containing one four and four sixes, was expertly supported by county stalwarts Chris Cooke & Timm van der Gugten, as Glamorgan added 109 runs for the loss of three wickets in 10 overs.
