It couldn’t have begun worse for Gloucestershire, as star of the last two matches, D’Arcy Short was clean bowled by Tom Taylor for a Golden Duck. Joe Phillips soon followed, an out of sorts innings brought to an end in Taylor’s next over. When Miles Hammond departed shortly afterwards, Gloucestershire were 29-3 in the fourth over.
Jack Taylor joined Ben Charlesworth, and they built a useful partnership that elicited 59 runs before Taylor lobbed Usama Mir skywards, and Gareth Roderick completed the simplest of catches. Charlesworth himself was the next man out, just one short of his half century, slapping Sikander Raza to long-off.
