Gloucestershire have announced that they have signed Henry Brookes on loan for five games.

Brookes, who has been at Middlesex since 2024, was a 17 year old protégé when making his debut back in 2017, was part of a 24 man England squad in 2020 but has suffered from injuries since. Standing at 6’3”, Head Coach Mark Alleyne is hoping that the tall seamer can extract some bounce from the notoriously slow and low Bristol wicket.

“He’s an incredibly talented young fast bowler who I’ve worked with at England Under-19s and England Lions level.”

Jon Lewis, Director of Cricket

Born in Solihull, Brookes started at Warwickshire before the move to North London, interspersed by a loan spell at Derbyshire and a spell in the Hundred for Birmingham Phoenix. He has taken 125 wickets in 50 first class matches at 38 apiece but also averages 18 with the bat including six first class half centuries.
