Quoted as a ‘fluent and technically correct batter’ Wilson was sectioned in an ECB development XI for the women’s European championship in August 2010. She impressed the selectors with impressive scorers against Netherlands (76) and Scotland (53*). This led to her making her ODI and T20 debut in Sri Lanka three months later. Although experiencing a rocky international career due to a ‘conservative selection policy’, she gained a central contract in December 2015 and was recalled to the England squad in the 2016 Pakistan series. On return she scorers 43* at Southampton during a T20 to win the match. As a middle order batter she could make a lasting impact on a match, and a positive player on the pitch.
